Fanttik F2 Master review: the little rotary tool that lives on my hobby bench

Short version: The Fanttik F2 Master is a small cordless rotary tool, and it’s become one of the most useful things on my bench. I use it to clean up cosplay prints, miniatures and terrain. It’s an absolute keeper, and it’s the reason I’m eyeing the rest of Fanttik’s tool line.

What it is

Think of a full-size rotary tool shrunk down to roughly the size of a fat marker, with no cord. It has an aluminum body, charges over USB-C, and comes in a storage case with a set of bits for sanding, grinding, cutting and polishing. Fanttik quotes about two hours of continuous runtime per charge. For my use the battery is perfect. It hasn’t run out on me in the middle of a project yet.

What I use it for

  • Cosplay cleanup. Knocking down support nubs, smoothing layer lines and edges on printed armor and props before primer.
  • Miniatures. Cleaning up resin minis after supports come off, where a full-size tool is way too much. More in my ELEGOO Saturn 2 8K review.
  • Terrain. Shaping and texturing scatter and terrain pieces for the tabletop.

The common thread is control. For hobby work you rarely need raw power; you need something small enough to hold like a pen and cordless so you can turn the piece in your other hand. That’s exactly where the F2 shines.

Things to know

  • It’s a precision tool, not a replacement for a full-size rotary tool on heavy cutting jobs.
  • Dust and fumes still apply. Sanding resin and plastic makes dust you shouldn’t breathe, so wear a mask, especially with resin.
  • Check the kit you’re buying. Fanttik sells the F2 Master in a few bundles with different accessory counts, and prices move around a lot with sales.

Verdict

If you print, paint or build at hobby scale, the F2 Master is one of the easiest tool recommendations I can make. It’s a keeper on my bench, and I already own two of Fanttik’s electric screwdrivers, the E1 Max and S2 Pro Max, alongside it.
